You
can be your own "reader"!
The Tarot is a set of symbols that were designed
to stir up your imagination and help you find
happiness. It is your job to create meaning from
your intuitive insights. The questions on each
card are meant to be a self-help guide to jolt
you into deeper introspection.
First, it is important to choose
a brief statement of focus, not a question, for
your reading, such as: "I want to explore
new job ideas," or "I want to know who
I am today". This channels your thoughts
in a clear direction and keeps you on target throughout
the reading.
Choose any layout you prefer
for the reading. You might try this easy 3-card
pattern:
The first card you choose helps you clarify,
" What's behind me?" or, "Where
am I coming from”, regarding your focus.
The second card helps you to decide,
"What do I want?"
The third card helps you to decide, "What
is first step I will take to reach my goal?"
and pledge to begin today.
Next, gaze at the image you selected
and ask yourself: "How does this relate to
my focus statement?" "What is happening
here?" "What stands out?" "Does
this image remind me of anything that is happening
in my daily life?" “How does it answer
my question?”
Then, read the question at the
bottom of the card. This is just a hint to get
you started on your reading. It may or may not
be meaningful to you. You may want to meditate
or write in your journal to interpret what the
cards mean to you. There are no wrong answers!
The important thing is to use this tool to stimulate
positive, creative imagination and have fun! The
more you play with it, the more self-understanding
you will gain. Make up a game, tell a story, entertain
your family and friends. Enjoy!
